I was born in Central Maine to a father of Abenaki/Scottish/Irish descent and to a Japanese mother.
While growing up, I realized the gifts that I was born with were to be a seer, a dreamer and a hands-on healer. I knew one day that I would meet the Grandmother with whom I was always having spirit conversations in dream-time. The day finally came when I met an elder Grandmother Nakai Breen (Rose of the River), Cherokee medicine women in Texas.
I spent 20 years with her, learning how to remember the things I already knew and receiving new teachings. When we initially first met, she asked me, “Where have you been for so long? It took you long enough to get here!”
Grandmother Nakai Breen walked as a “Beloved Woman of the People." She taught me to search and practice the gifts that I was born with and would use today at the The Rose and The Swan Healing Center to help "Heal the Healers" - a vision that I saw in my dreams. Grandmother Nakai brought into the world the Medicine Hoop of Life (which came before the medicine wheel) and passed on the sacred ceremony to Grandmother SaSa. The sacred ceremony came from the ancient ones. It was sent to humanity at a time that it would be needed for Earth’s healing and for the healing of the people. It is a tool for our time that provides Humanity with guidance and healing.
The Rose and The Swan, a center dedicated to healing the healers, is operated by donation only. Twice a year, on the first Saturday of every June and every October, I hold a Medicine Hoop of Life ceremony that was passed on to me from Grandmother Nakai Breen.
My husband and I along with two helpers also conduct sweat lodges, pipe ceremonies, the teachings of drumming and beading in a Traditional Way.
Grandmother Nakai also introduced me to the The Crystal Earth Project - a project of helping to plant Crystal Earth Seeds. I have blessed and planted a Crystal Earth Seed in Texas in honor of Grandmother Nakai, blessed the planting of The “Onondaga Peacemaker” Crystal Earth Seed in Syracuse, N.Y. in the Spring of 2016, and planted a Crystal Earth Seed in ceremony at the Medicine Hoop of Life that I keep. This technology directly engages the energies of Mother Earth, through the use of special crystals, for the purpose of healing and enlightening the human physiology.
At The Rose and The Swan, I do individual private sessions and group counseling. In addition to The Rose and The Swan Healing Center, I continue to work with gifted children and adults with brain trauma. Recognized as a High Priestess and Universal hands-on Healer, I travel internationally, across the United States and Canada to share the Teachings, conduct Sacred Ceremonies and assist with healing when asked.
In May of 2018, I was honored to join grandmothers and elders from around the world to share wisdom at the Gathering for Humanity in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In 2016, I was recognized for her humanitarian work when she was named as one of the first recipients of the Tribal Trust Foundation Grandmother/Elder Fellowship Fund.
I share my life with Terry, my husband of 52 years. We are blessed with two daughters, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
I am a lifelong lover of the earth and its people. I am honored to be able to serve humanity and be a part of the healing work taking place among the human race at this Sacred time."
